For visitors on the Autism spectrum and their families
We know that queues and hustle and bustle can be overwhelming for many families, so every first Saturday of the month we open our doors early to ease your arrival and ensure you have the best time with us.
Have a stress-free visit to all our current interactive exhibitions - plus the Attic, Studio and Story Station – with no music or noisy tannoy announcements and plenty of skilled staff on hand to help with anything you might need. Our sensory backpacks, available to borrow for a fully returnable £10 deposit, are a perfect way to explore together - each one containing a multisensory blanket and tactile props to bring a book from one of the galleries to life. You can also borrow a handy pair of ear defenders at Reception if you’d like to screen out background noise and focus on having fun.
Early Bird Opening also means you can have a quieter visit to our Café - enjoy a hot drink or homemade snack from 9am. Our Bookshop is open from 9:30, and our friendly booksellers can help you choose the right book for your family to carry on sharing stories at home.
Seven Stories wants to give you the best possible visitor experience. If you have any queries about access, or would like to discuss any aspect of your visit before you arrive, please call our Access Champion Beth Coverdale on 0300 330 1095 ext. 220 or speak to any member of our staff team.
General admission required. Seven Stories is free to attend for Max Card holders.
